Welcome to LBMSH Gold Hockey Season

Good Morning everyone, I'm the head coach of the Littleton 7/8th grade middle school hockey team this season.  We have an excellent coaching staff who has been doing this for a long time so we are looking forward to a great season.  I'll be joined by Brian Piekos, Peter King, Frank Ruel, and Sean Smith.  We all coach additional teams at different levels and have had most if not all of these kids previously in hockey or in other sports along the way.

All of the kids are obviously at different ages and different skill levels so our focus will be on having fun while trying to teach them to make the right hockey play.  This is time for them to get familiar with their teammates who they will play with at the high school level and may not get to regularly play with on their town or club teams.  There will not be any practices so the games are the time for them to develop their skills, take coaching instruction, and build confidence throughout the season.

Our game schedule has been posted to the NESC website (

Our schedule can be accessed via the NESC website - Leagues --> All Leagues-->Middle School League 2019-2020 then sort the division on Middle School Red and we are the LBMSH Gold team.

The first game is this coming Saturday at 7am rink 6.  This league is notorious for making game changes with little to no notice so I'll do my best to keep you informed throughout the season.

Hopefully you can make it to Hit the Net to pick up your your jersey if it is ready.  Not sure I'll have socks in time so they can wear whatever team socks they have - blue if you can.  If you are unable to get your jersey by Saturday please send your player with one light color shirt and one dark and we'll tape a number on the back....

I know that this first game is early but please try to arrive a half hour before each game so we can put the lines together and fill out the game sheet before getting on the ice.

I'll be sending out a google doc shortly with the game schedule so that you can let me know if your player is coming to that game or not.  Currently there are only 4 games on the schedule and more will be added shortly.  All we ask is that you update the spreadsheet for your player so we can plan accordingly.  We have 3 alternate players and an alternate goalie who will love to fill in when your player cannot make it.

Apologies for the long email but wanted to get this first one out as soon as possible.  If there are any questions please don't hesitate to reach out to me, if you are on your way to a game and running late please text me 508-367-0160.

Looking forward to getting started.

Program Format & Participation Guidelines

Our Programs Format and Participation Guidelines

  • Our teams are open to families and players residing in the towns of Littleton and Harvard Mass, and school of choice families and players in these same towns. Players outside of this will be considered based on open roster spots and BOD approval.
  • The program is designed to get players on a number of different teams on the same one, playing together in advance of their high school teams.
  • Participants must have a current USA Hockey Membership number to participate.
  • This is games only format played in quality leagues in the area.
  • This is not a learn to skate, or learn to play hockey program. The game is fast, and often physical at this level. It is expected participants have experience in organized hockey.
  • For those interested in learn to skate and learn to play hockey these programs are offered by Acton Boxboro Youth Hockey, and Nashoba Youth Hockey.
